Learner Quick-Start Guide
Welcome to Kubicle! This quick start guide is designed to help learners understand the Kubicle interface and get up and running quickly—from starting your first course to tracking progress and earning certificates.
Getting Started on Kubicle
Once you log in to Kubicle, you’ll see the main navigation on the left-hand side. This is where you’ll access all areas of your learning experience.
Key sections you’ll use most often:
- My Semesters – your assigned learning, deadlines, and progress
- Self-Directed – optional learning outside your assigned programme
- Library – the full catalogue of Kubicle courses, projects, and paths
- Achievements – your certificates and diplomas
My Semesters: Your Assigned Learning
My Semesters is where you’ll spend most of your time if you’re part of a Learning Group.
Here you can:
- View your current semester and upcoming semesters
- See learning milestones and due dates
- Track completion progress at lesson, course, and semester level
- Continue learning from where you left off
Switching Between Semesters
If your programme includes multiple semesters:
- Click the semester dropdown at the top of the page.
- Select the semester you want to view.
A green dot indicates your currently active semester.
Starting a Course
From My Semesters, click any course to open it.
On the course page, you’ll see:
- A course overview with the number of lessons, exercises, and exams
- A Start Course button
- A lesson list on the left showing your progress
Click Start Course to begin learning.
Navigating Lessons
As you move through a course:
- Lessons, exercises, and exams appear in the left-hand sidebar
- Your progress updates automatically as you complete each item
- Completed items are clearly marked
Lesson Tabs
Within a lesson, you can switch between:
- Overview – high-level context for the lesson
- Summary – key learning points
- Lesson Files – downloadable resources (if available)
- Transcript – written version of the lesson
Skill Checks: Tailoring Your Learning
Some courses begin with a Skill Check.
Skill Checks:
- Are short, low-stakes scenarios
- Help assess your current proficiency
- Determine whether a course is marked as mandatory or optional for you
You can choose to:
- Start Skill Check to evaluate your level
- Skip Skill Check to include all lessons in the course
Your results help personalise your learning experience.
Taking Notes and Saving Lessons
My Notes
While watching lessons, you can open My Notes to:
- Write notes as you learn
- Automatically save notes against the lesson
- Revisit notes later for revision
Saving Lessons
Click the star icon on a lesson to save it to your favourites. This makes it easy to return to important content later.
Self-Directed Learning
The Self-Directed area allows you to explore learning beyond your assigned programme.
From here, you can:
- Browse recommended content
- Enrol in additional courses or paths
- Learn at your own pace without deadlines
Using the Library
The Library gives you access to all Kubicle content.
You can:
- Search for courses, projects, or paths
- Filter by subject or skill area
- View content duration, difficulty level, and CPE/CPD credits
You’re free to explore the Library at any time.
Tracking Progress and Deadlines
Kubicle automatically tracks your progress across:
- Lessons
- Courses
- Milestones
- Semesters
You’ll see:
- Completion percentages
- Mandatory vs optional content
- Due dates for milestones and semesters
This helps you stay on track throughout your programme.
Achievements: Certificates and Diplomas
When you complete courses or programmes, your achievements appear in Achievements.
From here, you can:
- Download certificates and diplomas as PDFs
- Share achievements directly to LinkedIn
- View CPD/CPE credits earned
