Why isn't my lesson, exercise or milestone marked complete?
Your progress updates automatically as you complete each item. If something you have worked through is not showing as complete, or the next milestone is still locked, these are the usual reasons.
Lessons count as complete only when played to the end
A lesson is marked complete once its video has played right to its final few seconds. If you skipped ahead, closed the lesson early or stopped near the end, it can stay incomplete even though you watched most of it.
What to do: open any lesson without a green checkmark and let it play through to the very end. Then check that it shows as complete.
If a video will not play or stops partway, see How to Troubleshoot Issues Playing Lesson Videos on Kubicle.
Exercises are optional
Exercises are there to practise what the lesson teaches, and solutions are provided so you can check your work. They are optional, so they do not affect your progress and do not show as completed in the same way lessons do.
Milestones unlock in order
Your semester is split into milestones. A milestone stays locked until every mandatory item before it is complete, so one incomplete lesson can keep the next milestone closed. Read more in Introducing Milestones.
Your skills check decides what is mandatory
Some courses start with a short skills check. Your result marks each course as Mandatory or Optional for you, which is your personalised learning plan, so the skills check will not appear as a separate item in your list. Read more in Understanding Skill Checks.
Still not complete?
If an item still does not show as complete after you have played it to the end, raise a ticket with:
- the course name
- the titles of the lessons still showing as incomplete
- the milestone that is locked, if any
We will check your account and get back to you.
